I went for Mass today Pentecost Sunday. Before mass began the priest said that from today onwards, the chruch will be using the New Lectionary. This New Lectionary goes back befoe the existing one and is closer t othe mass of the ages.
The priest also said that in the new liturgical year, which begins at advent, we will be saying the I Confess which is a direct translation from Latin as well as the We Believe.
Am I dreaming, is this real. Does this New Lectionary apply to just North America or to the entire English Speaking world.
I would like to hear from you all via the combox, what you all thought of the New Lectionary, has it been implemented in your parishes. Did the preist announce the changes? etc.

I believe their are three key revisions, or corrections, returns to the original language as carefully preserved in the Latin text of the Mass.
1. "For the many", versus "for all". I believe that the erroneous English translation from "ad multos", is now corrected.
2. The return of a proper Confiteor is welcomed.
3. I believe that the "Domine non sum dignus" is fixed. "Enter under my roof" replaces "to receive you".
